Parlor Hofner 520 model 1960.

The first model built by Hofner with these characteristics. It is about the size of a parlor guitar (slightly smaller than the 522, but wider at the sides).

Spruce top, maple back and sides, with pear wood fretboard.

It was not produced in large quantities, and the period was from 1952 to 1968.

It has a 62 cm scale and an extraordinary sound. It is a difficult model to find.

The original bronze frets have been reconditioned and allow a good adjustment, being very comfortable to play. It is strung with silk and 0.11 steel.

The neck is straight and stable, all the pieces are original, and it also maintains the original varnish .

It also has superficial scratches, but it is in very good general condition, and perfectly functional.

In the Hofner catalog it is described as follows:
"A small Viennese-style guitar, made with a spruce top and maple back.

The guitar was given a highly polished red finish. A white celluloid pickguard was fitted, and since a metal tailpiece was used, the guitar was supposed to be made for steel strings..."
