Hofner 491 E model (1968).
Pine-spruce top, mahogany back and sides. Rosewood fingerboard, Jumbo round-shoulder.  It has a large body with round shoulders, and a 64.5 cm long scale.

It is very deep, much wider on the sides than other models. This was the last year these jumbo-sized bodies were built, with a traditional-style glue-in neck. From 1969 many parameters were changed.

The reinforcements on the lid are in X, this was maintained until 1968, then the design changed.

It also has many small nicks and scratches on the varnish, but no cracks or repairs. The neck with trusrod, perfectly straight and very solid, its design allows an easy execution.

On the back, the varnish lightens and changes the hue, it is sometimes normal in these old varnishes

It has an original Hofner pickup installed in place of the last fret. They are very high quality pickups, which work perfectly.

It has been completely reviewed and adjusted as necessary. The frets have been re-conditioned and polished. All the parts are original, except the bridge.

The guitar tunes well and is very comfortable to play.

Height of the 6th string at fret 12 is 2.0 mm, and the 1st string at fret 12 = 1.5 mm.

The live sound impresses!! This year's guitars are very hard to find, there wasn't much production.
